Back in the 60s I was always put off by Charltons' low quality &often murky covers and smeared panels . Back in the day these books were everywhere you looked in my neighborhood. Now I can appreciate them for their kitschy goodness.

NotesPromo for Charlton comics "on sale now." Covers of Fightin' Five #38 and Go-Go #2 are depicted. Comes between pages four and five of first interior story. While the Mr. Dedd image in the ad appears to be an excerpt from the cover for Ghostly Tales #56, credited to Mastroserio, it has been proposed as the first piece of art Jim Aparo had published. Research by Michael W Gallaher has not been able to prove either way.
